You need to ring either the North Thoresby or the Cleethorpes Clinic to make an appointment, depending on where you want to take your pet. The North Thoresby surgery is open from 8.30am-6.30pm Monday to Friday and from 8.30-11.00am on Saturday, and the Cleethorpes surgery is open from 9.00am-6.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am-11.00am on Saturday. An appointment would be made for you to bring your pet to the relevant surgery for a consultation.
If you have an emergency outside these hours, please ring either of the numbers and follow the instructions for paging the vet on duty.
Puppies should be vaccinated at 8 weeks and 10 weeks (2 weeks between injections), kittens at 9 weeks and 12 weeks (3 weeks between injections). Both puppies and kittens can go out 5 days after the 2nd injection. Rabbits should be vaccinated for myxomatosis from 6 weeks and VHD from 6 weeks but the vaccines must be at least 3 weeks apart.
Dogs can be castrated from 6 months, or spayed 6 weeks – 3 months after the end of their season (see question below). Cats can be castrated or spayed from 5 ½ months. Rabbits, guinea pigs and other ‘small furries’ can be neutered from about 5 months.
It is preferable to have one season first. Your bitch can be spayed from 6 months but you should discuss this with the vet first.

Approximately 25-28 days into the pregnancy.
10 days after the operation. Some may have dissolving sutures but should have a check with a nurse anyway.
Puppies and kittens should be wormed every 3 weeks starting from 3 weeks to 12 weeks. Panacur liquid or granules are easy to use. Repeat worming at 6 months.
Routine worming - for dogs: If using Drontal Plus, every 6 months (1 tablet per 10kg with or without food), - for cats: We use Drontal Cat, 1 tablet per 4kg every 6 months or more frequently if they hunt. We can provide a tapeworm injection if the tablets are too difficult to give.
Your dog should be treated for fleas every 2 months and your cat every 4-5 weeks.
